Kathmandu, September 22: Regular share trading at the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has resumed today after technical issues at the data center hosting 72 trading member companies were successfully resolved.
According to NEPSE Spokesperson Murahari Parajuli, operations have returned to their regular schedule following confirmation that the technical problems at Data Hub Pvt. Ltd.which acts as the data center for the servers of 72 brokers—have been fixed.
NEPSE had halted regular trading yesterday following technical faults that surfaced at the data hub. The suspension was enforced to prevent potential risks and systemic damage to the core trading platform.
The Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) directed NEPSE to study and investigate the suspension. SEBON has deployed a five-member inspection team led by a deputy executive director to submit a report with preventive measures to avoid similar incidents in the future.
While trading has resumed after fixing the immediate server malfunction, the exact technical causes and specific systemic vulnerabilities behind the disruption have not yet been fully identified.
With the data center issues addressed, investors and brokers can now conduct transactions according to the standard schedule.
