Continuous rainfall and snowfall have severely affected daily life in Humla district. Telephone and internet services have been disrupted across most areas, including the district headquarters, Simkot, as solar power systems installed on high-altitude telecom towers failed to operate.
The communication breakdown has created challenges for local authorities to coordinate with local governments, security agencies, and relevant offices to collect details of the damages.
Due to the incessant rain, school buildings in various parts of the district have suffered damage, and road networks remain blocked. Along with the continuous rainfall, Simkot and surrounding areas have experienced snowfall, leading to a complete closure of the Hilsa border crossing.
