POKHARA, October 3.
A Business-to-Business (B2B) networking program was organized in Pokhara on Friday between tourism entrepreneurs from Pokhara and Northeast India to promote tourism and foster business collaboration.
Promoted by the Nepal Tourism Board in collaboration with the Pokhara Tourism Council, the event was jointly organized by Hotel Association Nepal Gandaki, Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) Gandaki, and Hotel Association Pokhara Nepal. Representatives from the Northeast India Tourism Federation and local entrepreneurs from Pokhara participated in the event, which aimed at “promoting tourism and expanding business networks.”
Hari Bhujel, Chairperson of the Pokhara Tourism Council, stated that the meeting focused on bilateral discussions regarding tourism promotion, tourist exchange, network expansion, and mutual cooperation. He expressed confidence that direct interactions and stronger business linkages between stakeholders of both regions would significantly boost Pokhara’s tourism sector.
Laxman Subedi, President of Hotel Association Pokhara Nepal, committed to extending the annual “Chaliye Pokhara” (Let’s Go to Pokhara) promotional campaign to cities across Northeast India.
Sangeeta Poudel, President of NATTA Gandaki, highlighted that the primary objective of the B2B session was to strengthen tourism connections with Northeast India and increase the inflow of Indian tourists. She added that the initiative would help identify new opportunities for partnership among tourism operators.
Chiring Wange, President of the Northeast India Tourism Federation, noted that the interactions with Pokhara’s business community during their visit would bolster tourism development for both destinations. He emphasized that numerous collaborative tourism initiatives could be undertaken alongside Pokhara.
Similarly, Yangchen Tongden Lepcha, General Secretary of the Northeast India Tourism Federation, remarked that although borders separate Nepal and Northeast India, both regions share common goals in tourism. She stressed the importance of joint efforts and active collaboration between tourism stakeholders moving forward.
