KATHMANDU, October 2:
The Meteorological Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has announced that this year’s monsoon has started withdrawing from various regions of Nepal, starting with Sudurpashchim Province this morning.
According to the Division, the monsoon has retreated from Sudurpashchim Province, Karnali Province, most parts of western Lumbini Province, and a few western areas of Gandaki Province.
The department noted that as the monsoon winds continue to weaken, the weather system is expected to completely exit the remaining parts of the country in the coming days. The Meteorological Forecasting Division is actively monitoring the monsoon withdrawal process and the potential influence of westerly winds.
