Paris — Special Olympics Libya captured its first-ever Men’s Division 1 championship title at the Special Olympics Unified Football World Cup Paris 2026, defeating defending champions Jamaica 3-1 in an emotional final.
Libya entered the final on a remarkable tournament winning streak and delivered their finest performance on the global stage, anchored by a stellar performance from midfielder Musab Hosson. Jamaica, who won the previous tournament in Detroit in 2022, fought valiantly but could not contain Libya’s clinical attack. Meanwhile, Special Olympics Paraguay secured the bronze medal, wrapping up a historic week of sportsmanship, inclusion, and elite competition in the heart of Europe.
