Kathmandu, September 21: The Nepal Police has arrested two employees of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) on charges of match-fixing, financial irregularities, and fraud.
A team from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the police arrested ANFA Treasurer Rabindra Joshi and Accounting Officer Sanjeev Pandey this evening. Bureau spokesperson Anupam Shamsher Jabra informed that Joshi and Pandey were arrested for investigation based on a letter from the National Sports Council (NSC) central office in Tripureshwar and a complaint/application filed by Basanta Rijal.
Spokesperson Jabra stated that a four-day remand has been obtained for both arrested individuals from the Lalitpur District Court, and further investigation is underway.
