Rasuwa disaster: A Chinese national and a 64-year-old Nepali woman rescued alive
Two people have been rescued alive in Nepal today, bringing a rare moment of hope amid the devastation caused by the Bhotekoshi floods.
In Betrawati, Nuwakot, rescuers heard a woman’s voice coming from a house buried in mud. After breaking through a wall, they found 64-year-old Chandrika Shrestha alive inside. She had survived for 11 days. She was airlifted to Kathmandu for treatment.
In a separate operation, the Nepali Army and a Korean disaster-response team rescued a Chinese national from Audit-4 Tunnel of the Upper Trishuli-1 Hydropower Project at 1:20 p.m. today.

The two rescues offer a powerful reminder that, even after days of destruction, hope can still be found beneath the rubble.
