The Kali Gandaki Corridor, which was previously blocked due to heavy rainfall, has resumed operations. The road was obstructed following landslides at various points along the Harmichaur–Arbeni–Purtighat section.
According to Inspector Birendra Bir Vishwakarma, Information Officer at the District Police Office, traffic resumed on Wednesday evening after landslides and debris were cleared using dozers and excavators through the coordinated efforts of Kali Gandaki Rural Municipality and the Road Division Office, Palpa.
Bed Bahadur Thapa, Chairman of Kali Gandaki Rural Municipality, stated that mudslides and large boulders had fallen along several stretches between Rudrabeni in Satyawati Rural Municipality and the Harmichaur–Arbeni–Purtighat area. He added that all branch roads within the rural municipality that had been blocked have also been reopened following the clearance work.
The road blockage had caused significant hardship for passengers traveling toward Tamghas, Baglung, Palpa, Butwal, and Pokhara. With the reopening of the highway, stranded public vehicles and other transport have resumed their journeys to their respective destinations.
