अफगानिस्तानमा विस्फोट
KABUL, September 30
Three children were killed and another was injured on Tuesday when an explosive device left behind from past conflicts detonated in the Bala Khogyani district of Nangarhar province, eastern Afghanistan, according to a statement released by the provincial governor’s office.
The statement noted that the incident occurred when the children found an object resembling a toy and began playing with it. The device exploded, killing three of them instantly on the spot and injuring another boy.
War-torn Afghanistan is reportedly among the most heavily contaminated countries in the world with explosive hazards and landmines, which remain buried in the ground as a legacy of over four decades of war and civil conflict. (RSS/Xinhua)
