Kathmandu, July 7, 2026: The Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association (NAIMA) held a press conference at The Soaltee Hotel to unveil details of the second edition of the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo, scheduled for August 11–16, 2026 (Shrawan 26–31, 2083) at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu. Billed as Nepal’s largest automobile and mobility expo, it will feature 51 stalls, over 55 brands, and more than 40 new launches, spanning two-wheelers, four-wheelers, commercial vehicles, EVs/hybrids, and related technologies and services.
NAIMA President Ritu Singh Vaidya noted the association has grown from 21 to 36 member companies in a year, reflecting industry confidence and NAIMA’s role as a unified voice for the mobility sector. Its vision is “Empowering Growth Through Mobility” with the mission “Mobility for All.” Past-year initiatives include the first Expo edition, training for 1,610 traffic police personnel, emergency support for offices damaged during recent demonstrations, and collaboration with the Department of Transport Management. NAIMA has also launched the Mobility Journal, Monthly Mobility Sambaad, and Capacity Building Training Sessions, and will allocate at least 10% of Expo ticket revenue to research fellowships. A future Mobility Conclave and government-partnered skills training programs are also planned, along with a possible separate expo for commercial mobility brands.
Board Member Sandeep Sharda emphasized the private sector’s economic role, while Auto Show Planning Committee Coordinator Gaurav Sharda highlighted improvements over last year’s event, including monsoon-appropriate arrangements, disability-accessible venue management, parking at Nepal Police Club, discounted rides via partner Pathao, and cashback via QR partner UnionPay. Free expert-led learning sessions on mobility, technology, road safety, and employment will be held at the Blue Pavilion Auditorium.
Global IME Bank (Co-Sponsor) will offer special banking and vehicle financing, while Red Bull Nepal (Powered By/Beverage Partner) will host activities. Additional partners include NMB Bank, Siddhartha Bank, Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance, BOSCH Nepal, Norvic International Hospital, WorldLink, and others across categories like education, health, security, and event management. Executive Director Raj Kumar Dulal facilitated the conference, inviting families, students, professionals, and policymakers to attend.
