Islamabad, september 26:
The Pakistani army has said that 16 terrorists have been killed in separate military operations in Pakistan’s southwestern Balochistan province in the last 48 hours.
According to the army’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations Department, five terrorists were killed in an operation targeting a terrorist hideout in the Shaban area near the provincial capital Quetta on Thursday. The army said that weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the spot.
Similarly, in another operation conducted on Friday in Nuski district based on intelligence, 11 terrorists were killed after a fierce gunfight between security forces and terrorists.
According to the army, these operations were carried out as part of a comprehensive counter-terrorism operation against terrorists.
The army claims that 33 terrorists have been killed in Balochistan so far under the operation that began on September 21. (RSS/Xinhua)
