Rupandehi, Oct 2: A process for preparing a report incorporating study, research and analysis regarding concept of ‘Buddhist Circuit’ related to the birthplace of Buddha, Lumbini, and places where he attained enlightenment, its implementation and benefits has been forwarded.
The process for the preparation of the detailed report has been forwarded after tripartite strategic partnership agreement between Lumbini Buddhist University, Chhay-Ya Nepal and Integrated Social Development Centre (ISDC). The study report would focus on preparation of policy-level suggestions and framework for sustainable tourism development and cross-broader connectivity, it is shared.
According to the Lumbini Buddhist University, a process to prepare the report by conducting joint onsite study, data collection and analysis, consultation with stakeholders and research by these three organisations is in progress. ISDC Board Member Swati Thapa shared that the Lumbini Buddhist University would lead academic field including study and research while Chhay-Ya Nepal would coordinate with province and local levels in course of preparation of the report.
Likewise, ISDC would make coordination of overall sides for this purpose. Chhay-Ya Nepal would contribute Rs 1.5 million for the project while the University would mobilize professors and experts, added Thapa. An inter-organisational operation committee comprising representatives of the three organisations would be formed for strategic direction, progress review and monitoring of the project.
The report has to be prepared by July 2027. Vice-Chancellor of the Lumbini Buddhist University, Prof Dr Manik Ratna Shakya, Chairperson of Chhay-Ya Nepal, Srishti Silwal and Chairperson of ISDC Siddhartha Bajra Bajracharya, signed the agreement, informed Registrar Indra Prasad Kafle.
