Police have arrested a fugitive suspect involved in a banking offence case with an claimed amount worth Rs 2.2 million.
The arrested individual has been identified as 40-year-old Santosh Pandey, a resident of Bharatpur Metropolitan City–11, Chitwan. He was apprehended from Dhobighat Height in Lalitpur Metropolitan City–3 by a team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office.
According to Superintendent of Police Rameshwar Karki of the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, an arrest warrant had been issued against Pandey by the Chitwan District Court in Bharatpur.
Police stated that the arrestee has been sent to the District Police Office, Bharatpur, Chitwan, for further investigation and necessary legal action.

Bhotekoshi Floods: 1,454 Bodies Recovered Thus Far
A total of 1,454 bodies of individuals missing in the Bhotekoshi floods have been recovered as of Tuesday.
According to data released by the Police Head Office, the district-wise details of the recovered bodies are as follows:
- Chitwan: 369
- Rasuwa: 236
- Nawalparasi (East): 232
- Nawalparasi (West): 222
- Gorkha: 79
- Dhading: 72
- Tanahun: 38
- Nuwakot: 24
Central Police Spokesperson and Deputy Inspector General of Police Abi Narayan Kafle informed that 1,334 bodies have been managed so far following due procedures, including DNA sample collection for identification.
A total of 7,975 police personnel have been deployed in the flood-affected areas to carry out search and rescue operations, relief distribution, and body management. Meanwhile, search operations remain ongoing for 4,718 people who are still missing.
