Kathmandu: The Supreme Court has ordered the authorities to produce political analyst Bharatmani Dahal before the court within 24 hours.
A single bench of Justice Kumar Regmi issued the order while hearing a habeas corpus petition filed over Dahal’s detention.
The court has directed the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers and other respondents to produce Dahal along with the case file related to the investigation and submit a written response.
According to the order, Dahal must be presented before the court within 24 hours, excluding the time required for the journey, from the date the order is received.
The Supreme Court is yet to release the detailed order explaining the basis of its direction.
